About Us

Community in Action
West Park Cultural Center was founded to help revitalize and maintain a vibrant West Park community while making programs available to residents city-wide.

For Children and Youth - we offer after school arts (YAP) and a summer arts and nature program (Camp Ginkgo & Ginkgo Academy).  Taught by professional artist/educators, these programs provide top notch instruction and caring mentorship.  With an upgraded website students can now create their own on-line portfolios and parents can share their thoughts and questions by using a login and password.  We are striving to make outcome measurement an integral part of our operations.

For Adults - West Park Cultural Center feels it is also important to provide adult development support by offering GED classes, adult tutoring, and computer classes. It is our intent to depart from traditional workforce preparation and job training structures by integrating the arts into the skill  development process and make use of state-of-the-art technologies.
For Families - our annual West Park Arts Fest brings families together for a day of live performances, activities in the Children's Pavilion, drawing workshops, youth chess tournament and exploring items on sale by our arts and craft vendors. The festival also serves as the culminating event for our program year to showcase student work as well as performances by professional artists.
Partnership - for us partnership is key to building program and organizational capacity.  We welcome the opportunity to explore and create new relationships.
