<![endif]-->One of West Park Cultural Center's favorite activities is making connections between our friends. On October 17, 2011 program coordinator Patty Bulack, organized a private tour to introduce Parkside community leaders and residents to the Shofuso Japanese House and Garden. The Japanese House opened their doors for this exclusive visit just so community leaders could discover the rich history and beauty of this "hidden treasure" in Fairmount Park located so close to their community. The group enjoyed telling stories from their childhoods about exploring the park, but having never come to the Japanese House! We are proud and excited that they now know where it is, and what it holds in store for any resident of Parkside who makes their way there!

We extend a special thanks to Derek Finn, Site and Program Manager at the Shofuso Japanese House and Garden for making the tour possible. Visit their website and learn more.
