in beautiful Fairmount Park

Since 2002 WPCOC has offered this annual arts and nature summer program that provides four weeks of meaningful experiences for children ages 5 to 15 beginning right after the July 4th holiday.  Throughout the four weeks artists work with the children on special projects ranging from theatre and music to visual arts, crafts, and media arts.

This is our fifth year in partnership with the Fairmount Park Horticulture Center as our program venue with horticultural staff participating with our artist/counselors as facilitators for nature activities.  In addition to activities that take place on the grounds of the Horticulture Center, the children have field trips locally and outside of Philadelphia.

In 2007 we gave new identity to the older youth by establishing Ginkgo Academy incorporating multi-media projects including photography, video, music composition/production, and graphic design.  In addition to arts and nature projects, campers have swimming and other recreational activities.

Our capacity is 35 campers with the camp day running from 8:00am to 3:00pm (some trip days are extended days).  Extended time to 4:00pm is available for an additional cost of $10 per day.  Breakfast and lunch are provided.  Our camper to staff ratio is at least 1-5.

2012 Camp tuition: $175 per week.  The cost of providing the camp exceeds our tuition.  The reduced fee is made possible through grants and contributions which also make it possible for us to never turn a child away for financial reasons.  A limited number of partial and full financial scholarships are availble for those who qualify (download application below).

To reserve space(s) for your child(ren) print out the pre-registration form below or register online above.  A one week $175 deposit is required at registration. For questions email info@westparkcultural.org or call 215/473-7810.
